Niagara County is located in wetsern New York. Niagara County has a total area of approximately 1140 square miles of which 46% is land and 54% water. As of the census of 2000, there were 219,846 people, 87,846 households, and 58,593 families residing in Niagara County, New York. It is ranked as the thirteenth most populous county in New York state. Niagara County is surrounded by Lake Ontario on its northern border, and by Niagra River on its wetsern border, wheresome of the famous Niagara waterfalls are located.
